Hi Neighbors! With all the diversity of seafood, there are several interesting choices that are quite affordable for the audience. What are those foods? Let's discuss the world's most expensive seafood.
Fourchu Lobster
Known as the “Rolls Royce of Lobster,” Fourshu Lobster is a famous seafood dish with a hefty price tag. This beautiful lobster was first introduced in New York and is considered one of the best lobsters in the world. Cooking live lobster can be a challenge when you're first starting out. However, this dish has an old vintage taste due to the spices and ingredients that are usually used to prepare it.
Fugu
The Pufferfish, or "Fugu" in Japanese, sells for an incredible $280. This seafood dish was invented in Japan and requires a specially trained chef to prepare it properly. They are also given special treatment because of the complexity they face in properly preparing and serving this dish.
Coffin Bay King Oysters
At 18cm long and weighing up to 1kg, you'll really step up your game by eating one of these oysters from Coffin Bay, Australia! Their size and weight alone make them the largest known oysters in the world! These awful oysters are usually served raw with a lemon wedge. You will pay $100 per serving.
Baby Eel
Although Asia and Europe have consistently dominated the exotic fish market, the United States found its own little gem, the baby eel. Baby eels are now considered an endangered species in many parts of the world. Baby eels are available to catch on coasts including Portland and Maine. The increase in fans makes the price skyrocket.
Bluefin Tuna
Bluefin Tuna is the current record holder for the most expensive seafood price. This tuna was purchased for 1.76 million dollars in 2013.
This fish can be consumed in many specialty restaurants scattered throughout Japan. It is highly unlikely that this fish will cease to be consumed in Japan, even with such a meager supply. Bluefin tuna remains the most expensive type of fish, but that doesn't prevent Japan from consuming half of the world's supply.
